Enabling pop-ups
Some of our systems rely on your web browser allowing Lava Dome Five to allow pop-up windows.Web browsers
Often web browsers come built-in with pop-up blockers, so you'll need to grant permission. Your web browser is the software you use for viewing websites, it's what you're using now.Microsoft Edge / Microsoft Internet Explorer
If you are a Windows user and haven't installed a new web browser, you are probably using the standard one: Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Internet Explorer.Microsoft Edge
Instructions:- From the "…" menu, go to Settings (Alt+t then o)
- Click "View advanced settings"
- Make sure "Block pop-ups" is set to Off.
As this is a global setting (not a per-site setting), you'll want to put it back to "On" when you're done.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Instructions:- From the gear menu, go to Internet Options (Alt+t then o)
- Click the Privacy tab
- Under Pop-up Blocker, click Settings
- In the Address of website to allow field, type nano.lavadomefive.com
- Click Add
- Click Close
- Click OK
Google Chrome
Instructions:- If you're on Windows or Linux:
- Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar (Alt+f then s)
- If you're on a Mac:
- From the Chrome menu, click Preferences (Cmd+,)
- Select Settings
- Click Show advanced settings….
- In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings… button. The "Content settings" window appears
- In the "Pop-ups" section of this window, click the Manage exceptions… button
- On top of where it says Add a new hostname pattern, type http://nano.lavadomefive.com
- Click OK
- Click OK
- Close the Settings tab
Mozilla Firefox
Instructions:- If you're on Windows or Linux:
- From the Tools menu, click Options (Alt+t then o)
- If you're on a Mac:
- From the Firefox menu, click Preferences (Cmd+,)
- Click the Content icon located at the top of the window
- Click the Exceptions button located to the right of Block pop-up windows
- You will see the Allowed Sites dialog box
- In the Address of website field, type nano.lavadomefive.com
- Click Allow
- Click Close
- Click OK to close the Options dialog box
Apple Safari
Safari has no per-website control over blocking pop-ups windows. Pop-ups are either blocked, or they are not. To allow pop-ups:- From the Safari menu, click Preferences (Cmd+,)
- Click Security
- Make sure Block pop-up windows is unchecked
You should go back and check Block pop-up windows when you are done using the site for the day, to avoid inconvenience if other websites abuse pop-up windows.
You may wish to install a more featured web browser, such as Google Chrome for greater convenience.
Opera
Opera has no per-website control over blocking pop-ups windows. Pop-ups are either blocked, or they are not. To allow pop-ups:- If you're on Windows or Linux:
- From the Tools menu, click Options (Alt+t then o)
- If you're on a Mac:
- From the Opera menu, click Preferences (Cmd+,)
- Make sure you are looking at the General tab
- Make sure Pop-ups is set to "Open all pop-ups"
You should go back and change Pop-ups to "Block unwanted pop-ups" when you are done using the site for the day, to avoid inconvenience if other websites abuse pop-up windows.
