Dino did some forum cleanup and found that emails being sent by the site to Gmail users weren't making it through.  Something about email security and the site needing something that would cost sweat and tears (e.g. money) to fix.  Well, that's not gonna happen because that sounds like a dumb thing to need to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, that also means that I don't receive email notifications when new members request accounts.  But I was working around that by manually checking every Once-in-a-while(TM) for new requests.  However, HOWEVER! even if I do approve a new account, if they registered with a Gmail account then guess what?  They aren't going to be getting sent login deets for their new account.  And that's an issue.

So... we are at a bit of an impasse.  Since sweat and tears isn't wanted to fix the issue, we may have to forego new memberships that use Gmail and Yaki is going to have to continue his Once-in-a-while(TM) quest for new users.

The whole thing makes no sense to me as to why it's even an issue, yet here we are.  Whomever is reading this, consider yourself updated.

It really does make no sense, big companies are all stupid.


Then again, none of the folks who have been registering are doing anything on the forums anyway. Not even a whimper of activity after some tried to flock to LD5 over FurAffinity. Only, like, five people are trying at all and that's a shame.
